BC Fashion Week today announced the resignation of founding principals, Debra Walker and Vladimir Markovich (pictured). Although departing from the active day-to-day operation of BC Fashion Week, Walker and Markovich will continue to provide consultative services to the event and to the incoming executive team.
“A number of opportunities have been presented to Debra and myself that are aligned more closely with both of our professional and personal goals,” stated Markovich. “We both believe very strongly in the vision of BC Fashion Week and look forward to continuing to support the fashion industry in BC and Canada. The new executive team for BC Fashion Week will be announced and assuming their new roles shortly. We look forward to working with them in taking the event to the next level.”
The Board for BC Fashion Week will be formally announcing the team replacing Walker and Markovich in the coming weeks. “Vladimir and I have been fortunate to work with the fashion community both domestically and abroad throughout our seven seasons,” said Walker. “We are pleased with the growth of the week since it began in 2005 and we are solidly behind the board’s selection for the new executive.”
