Fashion Folio: the industry book we’ve been waiting for

August 12th, 2009  |  Published in Blog

You know that there is something astir when a book is being compiled with all that are involved in the local fashion industry. Fashion Folio

It’s easy to forget what with all the social media we are surrounded by that a book like this is essential to the building of a unified industry. Our music industry has one already, thanks to an organization by the name of Music BC. Now it’s our turn, but for us, it’s in the hands of local photographer Trish Connolly.

Having worked in Vancouver as a photographer for the last 10 years, she has come across a lot of talented people and knew that they needed to be brought together in some way. Enter the “everything fashion, everything Vancouver all-in-one book”, the “Who’s Who” of the Vancouver fashion scene, the White Pages of industry members: Fashion Folio.

Launching this fall, Fashion Folio will be sold online and at different outlets around town at a very affordable price. What’s more, being included in the book is also positively affordable—especially for a full-colour publication. Pricing ranges from free text-only ads –1/6 of an 8” x 8” page—to $75 for quarter pages or double page layouts at $199.

The book promises to be a keeper and an invaluable resource—plans are to freshen up and add to its content annually to maintain with our ever-changing industry.

It’s high time we get onto this next, very important step, and I encourage all you fashion friends to add your name to this fine assemblage of individuals, companies, and businesses.
