Track and Field
Picnics in the sun, cartoon hedgehogs, matryoshka dolls, and little red riding hood converging with animals are some of the things you’ll find in Sasha Barry’s creations. She is a lover of adorable fabrics and unique prints and she funnels all this love through Track and Field Designs. And we certainly appreciate this infatuation, especially since with it she creates super-cute accessories like coin purses, laptop bags and pin cushions. Check her out at her Etsy site and see for yourself!

Dru’s Designs
Meghan Irish is the brains behind Dru’s Designs, a collection of women’s apparel based in Vancouver. For her Fall ‘08 line she put together very clean cut and classy pieces. A draped jacket (pictured above) that is beautiful merely for its simplicity (two buttons and you’re in!) makes for a great transitional piece from summer to fall, as well as a cozy top for the colder months by just adding a sweater. Meghan also works out the right side of her brain with Identity, a men’s collection of graphic T-shirts she designs with a Canadiana feel to it.

Jolie Mack Custom Jewelery Designs
Glam yet classy, Jolie Mack (named after the designer herself) is a collection of jewellery for the the independent and sophisticated woman. Swarovski Crystal, Czech glass, pearls, and semi-precious gems are joined together in sleek shapes and elegant pieces of jewellery. Jolie has a passion for the old as well, and she frequently uses vintage pieces in her collection giving it a mysteriously romantic feel. Join the Jolie Mack Designs Facebook group and be part of special offers and discounts.

KOKOban
KOKOban bags are just the thing for a busy woman with lots on her mind–and in her purse. All that you need in the perfect handbag you can find with a KOKOban: from the luxurious feel of suede lining to the practicality of a key chain hook for those frazzled days. All KOKOban bags are made with Italian leather and designed locally by two very fabulous ladies: Erica Ikari and Lisa Wong. Browse through all the designs and shop on the KOKOban website.

Olie
With the weather turning cold all of a sudden one might pose the question: “Whatever shall I wear that will keep me stylish AND warm at the same time?” Olie scarves, shawls, hats, and arm warmers that’s what! Chunky baby alpaca and wool yarns intertwine and knot their way into designer Amy Stewart’s cozy creations. Made with lots of love right here in Vancouver, each piece is uniquely designed to hold their own and become the highlight of an outfit rather than just another accessory. Rejoice the turn of the weather! When else does one get to layer up with chunky wool and look absolutely fab?
Portobello West is a London-style market that creates an avenue for local artists and designers to offer their goods to the West Coast market. It is held on the last Sunday of every month. Check out www.portobellowest.com or our Events Listings page for more details.
