Imagine a hot summer night, bright red balloons, and an ice cream bar with an assortment of delicious toppings. Play dates at the carnival or summer birthday celebrations come to mind when you think of such a combination. Fortunately, the birthdays of people are not the only kind we celebrate. To ring in their 2nd anniversary, Oliver & Lilly’s threw a charming
bash last Thursday complete with a pick your own topping ice cream bar and new fall items in store.
Located on West 13th Avenue just a stone’s throw away from South Granville Street, the shop is bright and airy with just the right touches of whimsy. While stylish ladies mingled and perused the racks in stay-cool dresses and shorts, the gracious hosts and owners of Oliver & Lilly’s, Leighann and Darren, ensured that everybody stayed cool and happy with either ice cream or a beverage.
The goods on offer were breezy and feminine. Think softly draped blouses and dresses, and loose fitting tees that float away from the skin (perfect for these hot summer days we have been enjoying). Top this off with a small selection of delicate vintage jewelry and dainty jewelry from designer Nicole Ginsberg and you have a shop that channels girly and pretty in a grown up way.
There may not be an ice cream bar when you visit Oliver & Lilly’s, but the warm atmosphere, charming décor, and feminine clothing and accessories will be sure to win you over. Remember, you can always get ice cream after you go shopping.
