Sticking with an almost all-black palette that is in her style, Aguri Sagimori presented a repertoire of suits, dresses, tops and coats that had a slightly futuristic air. With nearly no soft silhouettes, angles and asymmetrical seams ruled Sagimori’s catwalk. A black leather purse worn across the front with tiered ruffles reaching well below the knee almost resembled a portion of futuristic armour.
With powerful strides models walked down this catwalk, which was all-black and divided down the middle with a line saturated with silver sparkles. Similar sparkles and shimmer repeated themselves onto some of Sagimori’s pieces: sometimes on the shoulders of a top and others completely covering an ensemble. An astral quality lingered at the edges during the show; the sense of being in outer space among the stars coming and going. The models emulated this scene with their matte makeup and sleeked back hair, which contoured their heads into an almost cone shape. As a fairly new designer, Sagimori has proven her worth over her past few seasons, and this season was no different.
