Kiss & Makeup Store Opening Party

Kiss & Makeup PartyThe kind of patio party every girl loves
Words by Nadia Chu

A balmy summer night, cupcakes, cocktails, and fabulous makeup. This was the scene last Thursday at Kiss & Makeup’s patio party to celebrate the grand opening of their new and larger store. The owner, Heather Huntingford, was dressed in a beautiful long sea blue dress, and this set the mood for a lively and colourful party.

The store was bright and welcoming when I first walked in, with makeup and skincare neatly displayed on each side of the aisle. A tempting tower of cupcakes sat at the end of the makeup counter, but the variety of makeup and beautiful clothing was equally appealing. The more I explored, the more I was surprised by the range of accessories they carried. A girl could come and leave with all the indulgent treats she loves: a cashmere sweater, a leather purse, a luxurious face cream, and a sensual bottle of perfume. What girl doesn’t love finding all of these things in one shop?

The crowd was beautiful and stylish, and the energy light and fun. By the end of the night, I left feeling happy (a chocolate cupcake can take partial credit for that) and impressed with the revamped space and fresh image of Kiss & Makeup. I look forward to making more regular visits to this lovely boutique.
