The Many Scents of Chanel

Chanel No.5. It is one of the most famous fragrances of our time. Encased in that distinctive square bottle with the simple white label, its golden liquid promises to evoke all the mysteries of being a woman. Last Tuesday, Chanel debuted its new space in Holt Renfrew Olfactive Bar at the Chanel Espace Parfumsthat will not only be home to that inimitable No.5, but will feature all of their scents in an intimate setting they call the Espace Parfums. There are only six of these in the world, which makes Vancouver a very privileged city to have one.

At the heart of this Espace Parfums is an olfactive bar, where one can explore and experience the many scents of Chanel through the assistance of a trained fragrance specialist. The process feels at once luxurious yet personal, like marveling at the beautiful perfumes on a dear friend’s dressing table. I was not the only one fortunate enough to be among the first to try this bar, as many fashionably dressed women eagerly awaited their opportunity to consult with the Chanel fragrance specialist that was specially flown in from London for the launch.

The world of Chanel is elegant, sophisticated, and refined. A concept such as this Espace Parfums proves how well they understand the intimacy of a fragrance and the process of selecting one. As a perfume house with their own “in-house” perfumer and laboratories, much thought and care has been put into their fragrances before they reach the women who use them. You are in good hands when you are a client of Chanel, and when it comes to fragrance, there are no better hands to help you find the perfect scent.
